Steven Strenk: Breathing Space
September 12 – October 22, 2022
PATRICIA THOMPSON ALUMNI + SKYLIGHT GALLERIES in the Keating Center
This exhibition is the second installment of a multi-part exhibition that recreates and reimagines the experiences and observations from the artist’s exploration of Oswald West State Park and its coastline in Arch Cape, Oregon.
Chapter Two: Breathing Space is a journey along the coastline; an exploration of the senses. The viewer enters the exhibition along a winding trail through a forest like none other, past trees that touch the sky while bathed in shades of violet, and into a coastline clearing. People are gathered here. Some resting, others pondering the surf, and others enjoying the company of each other and themselves. Overall, this body of work addresses the partnership between location and object, patterns and marks, intention and time.
