With over two decades of experience, Kligman’s artistic exploration encompasses a rich tapestry of influences, ranging from her upbringing in the American Midwest to her extensive involvement in grassroots curating and arts administration.
Kligman’s artistic oeuvre invites viewers into a world where the mundane converges with the uncanny, offering glimpses into the intricate layers of everyday life and its peculiarities. Drawing inspiration from her personal experiences and surroundings, her work eloquently captures the essence of middle American culture, replete with nostalgic imagery and symbolic detritus. Through her exploration of tangible materials and site-specific installations, Kligman delves deeper into the dialogue between art and its environment, inviting audiences to ponder the interplay between the familiar and the enigmatic.
Furthermore, Kligman’s role as both artist and curator adds a unique dimension to her practice, underscoring her commitment to fostering artistic dialogue and community engagement. By championing the visions of fellow artists and facilitating broader conversations within contemporary culture, she embodies a holistic approach to creativity that transcends traditional boundaries.
